Today marks a significant day for Retirement Essentials as we say farewell to James, who is retiring after nearly 12 years with SuperEd (the owner of Retirement Essentials).
You will likely know James through the many articles he’s written for this newsletter. However James’ contributions have been far broader as he joined us in the very early days. He has played a pivotal role in the establishment of the business and contributed significantly to our mission to help all Australians make the most of their retirement through better planning and financial management.
James is a true believer in the need to provide high quality information and tools to empower all Australian’s to make better financial decisions. He also believes in the need to help people act on those decisions – for without action there is no impact.
While his departure is tinged with sadness for us, we are incredibly happy for James as he reaches this well-deserved milestone and embarks on the exciting new chapter of retirement, including the joy of spending his super!
James’s contribution over the years has been immense. His dedication, insights, and hard work have shaped much of the Retirement Essentials journey and the resources we share with our members. Many colleagues have benefited from his guidance, support, and wisdom, often citing his ability to provide thorough explanations and his patient approach. His generosity, good humour, and welcoming presence have been a valued part of our team culture.
We’ve all enjoyed working alongside James and will miss his contributions to our discussions, which often ranged far and wide, and sometimes into the wee hours!
The photo from a recent dog walk gives a lovely glimpse into how he plans to spend some of his time – enjoying the peace of his farm surrounded by his dogs. We wish him all the very best for this new phase of life, hoping it is filled with long walks, good company, and the satisfaction of knowing the positive impact he has had on thousands of people navigating their retirement journeys.
Thank you for everything, James. You will be very missed. We wish you a truly wonderful and fulfilling retirement! Please share your tips and thoughts with us all.
