Your legally valid will in 3 easy steps

Retirement Essentials encourages you to check that you have a current and valid will in place. When you have a valid will, you give yourself the best chance of making sure your assets go where you want them to.

To assist its members that don’t have a valid will, we have established an arrangement with Willed to provide wills and related services to our members.  If any aspect of the service provided by Willed fails to meet your expectations, please let us know – while we can’t take responsibility for their work or services we do care that our members have a great experience and are properly looked after. We do encourage you to undertake your own due diligence to ensure the services of Willed, and the fees you will pay, are suitable for you before signing up to Willed’s services.

Do you qualify for a simple will?

  • Do you have assets in Australia? If not, the online will may not be suitable depending on circumstances and future plans.
  • Do you have a blended family (e.g., children from two different partners)? If yes, the online will may not be suitable. Personalised advice provided by a solicitor may result in a will being crafted that better protects the testator against the risk of a challenge (either successful or otherwise) being made against the estate.
  • Do you intend to exclude a member of your family from your will or leave them less than they might otherwise expect? If yes, the online will may not be suitable. Personalised advice provided by a solicitor may result in a will being crafted that better protects the testator against the risk of a challenge (either successful or otherwise) being made against the estate.
  • Do you wish to include a life interest or right of residence in your will? If yes, online will is not suitable and requires personalised drafting.

So exactly how does the process work?
